About our scissors

What makes florist scissors different from regular scissors?

Florist scissors are designed specifically for cutting flower stems and floral materials. They are typically sharper, lighter, and more precise than household scissors, allowing for clean cuts that help keep flowers healthier and last longer.

Where are your scissors from?

We source our scissors directly from the manufacture. We are the authorized dealer in Canada and the products are 100% authentic! Sakagen scissors are made in Japan and they are the best selling professional florists scissors that are known for producing high-quality cutting tools with excellent durability and precision.

What is the difference between florist scissors and pruning shears?

Florist scissors are designed for precision cutting and lightweight use, while pruning shears are heavier tools intended for cutting thicker branches and woody stems.

Are these scissors suitable for professional florists?

Yes. Many of the scissors we carry are designed for daily use in flower shops and floral studios. Professional florists value tools that are lightweight, sharp, and comfortable for long hours of work.

Care & maintenance

How should I clean my florist scissors?

After use, wipe the blades with a dry cloth to remove moisture and plant residue. If sap builds up on the blades, it can be cleaned with rubbing alcohol.

Should I oil my scissors?

Yes. Applying a small drop of oil to the pivot joint occasionally helps maintain smooth operation and reduces wear.
